Pics

Does anyone know how to block people from being able to right click andsave pics you post on your blog? I know there is a way, but don't know how... Thanks.

Hi Lisa,

It's kind of a moot point. Anyone who knows what they are doing can take a screen shot of an image, paste the sceen shot into any image editor, and crop it as desired. There are ways to disable right-clicking using Javascript, but savvy web users can just disable the Javascript. Basically, anyone who wants an image can find a way to get it.

Hope that helps!

What Alabaster Mom said. It's kind of impossible to completely disable picture copying. It can be made more inconvenient, but that's about it.

I wish I had more uplifting news :/

Hang in there -- almost there!!

This isn't going to be what you wanted to hear, but don't post pics unless you feel happy to do so. I worried about putting my face( let alone the rest of me) out there and I noticed some blogs have pics and others don't but they are just as popular either way. Until you feel secure, just write you thoughts ...we will be waiting to read them - i hope you're ok, thanks for posting thinking about you xXx

Your other alternative is to create a Flickr account and put a password on it and just share it with those you want to share it with (and who you know aren't going to copy it).

I use to have a graphics site with in which I sold my own pixeled country graphics and it was very hard to completely protect anything short of putting something over the graphic that made it useless to someone else...such as light screen layer with my copyright..to remove it would ruin the image. Anyone can literally get through any java script not to mention everything you see on the web is cached on your computer in Temp Files..every single webpage and image. Someone suggested having your photos on Flickr and only giving that password to those you trust..that really is the best way to protect yourself.
