Pre-op work-up today

I have to drive about 45 minutes to the new hospital.  I can't get the surgery done at the original hospital (because it's to expensive) which makes me a little scared because it is a center for excellence, but it's the same dr at the new hospital.  I am on day 5 of an almost unbearable headache.  The kind that pounds in your head, your teeth, your neck... I am starving.  * 9 days til' surgery.  I am questioning this move every minute of every day.  Hanging in there second by second.  The regular pre-op diet I did last time allows for 1200 calories per day so I got to have more shakes.  BUT... After already having the sleeve, eating/drinking 1200 calories per day is too much calories for weight loss.
On a happier note... I french braided my 3 year old's hair yesterday for church.  She told me she was a church princess. :)

Im sorry but I don't agree with your 800 calorie a day. I also have a sleeve and I've been at my goal weight of 140 for 11 months and I eat 1200-1400 calories a day depending on exercise. Most days it's actually closer to 1100 and as long as I am eating at least 60 g of protein and under 50 g of carbs a day, I have no hunger.

I think the number one thing with losing weight is not what tool we use but that we have our head in the game. Without that, you have no hope of losing and maintaining. I sincerely hope you get your revision and are able to continue on your journey successfully!

Jacquie - not sure what you are talking about with the 800 calories part, but as far as the 1200 calories per day CANNOT provide me with the rapid weight loss I need in order to shrink my liver in time for surgery. As you said yourself, you eat around that for maintaining, NOT for losing. I'm glad it has worked out so well with you, but not everyone is the same. If my sleeve was working properly, I would not need a revision. That has nothing to do with my head being in the game. You can say that is true for any "diet" so if everyone can do that, they would not need WLS in the first place. I see you chose surgery and I know you would not say that you needed it because your "head was not in the game." Every experience is different for everyone. I know some who gain when they eat over 800 calories and others who can eat over 2000. Whatever plan tht is working for you, you should stick with because it sounds like you are doing a great job. For others like me, it's up to the Dr., the nutritionist and the patient to find the right balance.
